On Embracing the Unknown

Whoa, heed the human mind,

humankind.

We foster such great visions,

Materializing figments of the mind

microscopic finds,

and nuclear fission.

Whoa, heed the undiscovered,

the uncharted sea

of unknown ideas and geography.

The unknown possesses

truth truer

than what has been shown,

unbinding security,

exposing bigotry,

revolutionizing society,

and leaving the dust to history.

Whoa, heed the tides,

the waves most ride,

humankind.

The tide has shifted course,

and history is no longer his story.

That is, the white man in the top hat,

But rather she, who wears the corset.

It’s her story. Herstory.

Without refrain or remorse,

humankind, embrace discovery,

and rid ourselves of fear,

regret.

Glory. Glory.
