To the man
who checks out other women in my presence,
but has the nerve to tell me I’m beautiful:
You show me I’m beautiful
by only having eyes for me.
I know my worth.
I now take my beauty away.

To the man
who tells me he loves my brain
and should have dated me years ago,
but maintains other love interests elsewhere:
You show you me how you value me
by keeping your interest for me.
I know my worth.
I now take the option of myself away.

To the man
who fails to come through
by offering the simple gift of time:
You show me your affection
by showing up, engaged,
and keeping your commitments to me.
I know my worth.
I now take my presence away.
