“You’re like a subway train.
I rode you day after day
for very few miles.
Just like that,
your destination changed,
and I was forced to get off.
But just so we’re clear,
I’d have ridden you

Deah, your poetry gives me pause. You create a phrase, describing an emotion or attitude, and I swear it’s mine. After the vanity of my ego takes a step back, I realize it’s more apt to be humanity you describe.
But the doubt lingers, and it challenges me to be a better person. So whether it’s me or humanity, I gratefully, grudgingly thank you!!

Thank you, Fred. You know this, but as an artist, that’s my only goal: to make people feel and capture emotions that all humans go through. 😘
