Where the Whistle No Longer Blows

via Daily Prompt: Millions

She told him,
“You’re like a subway train.
I rode you day after day
for very few miles.
Just like that,

  1. Deah, your poetry gives me pause. You create a phrase, describing an emotion or attitude, and I swear it’s mine. After the vanity of my ego takes a step back, I realize it’s more apt to be humanity you describe.

But the doubt lingers, and it challenges me to be a better person. So whether it’s me or humanity, I gratefully, grudgingly thank you!!
