via Daily Prompt: Conundrum

We are experts
of the past.
How are we supposed
to move forward living here?
No tower, nor empire, nor enemy
can last,
and our only real adversary
is fear.
You refuse to see yourself
within the eyes of your brother.
You claim to be forward-looking,
while refusing to innovate.
If we are going to tear down walls
and reach each other,
we must learn to lose ego
and articulate.
We no longer need
concentrated groups to survive.
Fraternal organizations are just
a biologically-wired disposition.
It only takes one little seed
for an entire forest to thrive.
So I choose love, peace, and empathy
as my inquisition.
