Addicted

Nothing about growing you was pre-fab.
Your love is the organic chemical,
and my brain is the lab–

an addiction I happened onto by chance.
Your body and your smile
are my chemical romance.

    I seriously hate how getting addicted to the idea of someone makes you forget their essence. And we all need our fix!

      It does. It drives me crazy, because we do need that fix. But you end up imposing your expectations of who they should be onto them, which isn’t who they are at all–it’s selfish!
