Deah Caldwell Poetry

I’ve always preferred a little fringe
on my rugs and displayed as bangs.
But when it comes to resistance,
fringe was written in my name.
Feminist, lover of humanity–
my world is a colorful place,
where every religion, race and creed
belongs to my human race.
Most of us bleed blue and red.
Only 5% exist in between.
My sharpened scissors are the weapon of fringe,
defending against those who only bleed green.
