That Farmhouse Sun

That falling, westward-painted sky.
Electric orange–the color of warmth.
The sun’s daily ritual to descend and die,
only to be reborn each morn.
The orange fading into pink and purple hues.
Electric colors remind me the earth is alive.
Their reflections, bouncing off birdhouse poles, beam–
a reminder to thrive
and a beckoning to dream.
